Val Thorens has come up with a teleportation solution for its resort visitors!

[April Fools] You all guessed, teleportation is not for now! But thanks to our 360° videos, you can (almost) teleport in Val Thorens!

As a world exclusive, Val Thorens can now offer skiers the chance to be teleported from any resort location to one of its  “teleportation zones” situated across the ski area’s different summits.

We are proud to present this technology, which will almost certainly change the way we ski in years to come. As a direct result of recent progress made in quantum physics, this system was perfected with the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (the CERN) and is currently being trialled by resort professionals. It is due to be brought to market for the 2016-2017 winter season.

How does it work?

Rather than bore you with details of quantum entanglement and the complexity of qubits, I’d like to tell you how this can work for skiers.

It’s important to point out that extensive work has been carried out to make the system both intuitive and compact.

1- Put the little box in your pocket.

2 - Choose your teleportation zone on the ski area thanks to the mobile interface.

3 - Once you’ve chosen your destination, a countdown begins. You’ve got just enough time to put your phone away, grab your skis and away you go!

4 - You get to the summit and can then ski in total freedom.

5 - Once you get back down to the bottom, just choose your next teleportation zone.

Say goodbye to your workout in the gym next to the office….Now you can ski in the sunshine during your lunch break!

There are currently 3 teleportation test zones:
La Cime Caron (3,200m)
Le Col de la Chambre (2,850m)
Le Col de Thorens (3,002m)

All of Val Thoren’s summits will be equipped for the 2016-2017 winter season.

Finally, to ensure safety on the slopes, the teleportation zones are open from 9am to 5pm.

How can you try the service out?

In order to offer the finished product to as many people as possible, we are currently looking for beta testers to help us fine-tune the teleportation service before the end of the season. Please complete the form below if you are interested!
