THE SUMMITS

Peclet Summit, 3,100 meters

From Val Thorens, head towards the Peclet funitel. If you haven’t got your ski pass, don’t panic, there are ticket offices here. From the arrival point, make your way down to the Glacier chair lift. Back in the day, you could ski in Val Thorens 365 days of the year. If you’re scared of heights this isn’t for you as the piste du Glacier (black) is one of the steepest runs in Les 3 vallées.

Col de Chaviere, 3,130 meters

Firstly take the Moraine, then the Col chair lift and be prepared for mind-blowing views at the top! Soak up the panorama of the Chaviere glacier and views over the Vanoise National Park. A large white snowy bowl, where nature reigns, lies before you.

Have a rest and something to eat, take some photos to share. More than 1,000 meters of vertical drop await you.

Col de Rosael, 3,000 meters

From la Moutière chair lift, catch the Grand Fond funitel. This mountain pass links the Tarentaise and Maurienne valleys, giving you access to Orelle. Thanks to its southern exposure, the sunshine reigns supreme all day long. What’s more, Orelle is also the gateway to Les 3 Vallées for skiers coming from the Maurienne Valley and Italy. The Val Thorens ski pass can be used here too.

Cime Caron, 3,200 meters

Val Thorens’ legendary summit, due not only to its height but also its history, Cime Caron is one of the resort’s unmissables. It was back in 1981/82 that the SETAM (ski lift company) began the project of building the largest cable car in the world, the Cime Caron, to reach heights of 3,200 meters. This development was the start of a new era for Val Thorens, placing the resort in the leading group of major winter sports resorts.

If it’s views you’re after, experience a 360° panorama. From Mont Blanc, taking in the Ecrins Massif and the Maurienne valley, unfold the secrets of the ski area.

2 in 1: Bouchet Summit, 3,230 meters and the summit of the Thorens funitel, 3,000 meters

Set on the Orelle sector (Maurienne valley), this is the highest summit in Les 3 Vallées, culminating at 3,230 meters. To get there, take the Peyron and Bouchet chair lifts (Orelle). This is also the departure point of the highest mega zip wire in the world. Enjoy 1 minute 45 seconds of sheer enjoyment and breath-taking views as you travel 1,300 meters between the summit of Val Thorens at 3,000 meters, and the summit of the Thorens funitel.

Hanging from a steel cable whilst comfortably strapped into a fabric harness, travel at speeds of more than 62 miles per hour between Orelle and Val Thorens. Feel what it’s like to be an eagle in flight above the wide open spaces.
