Discovering Snow Art!
Did you notice Simon Beck’s drawing in the snow this weekend?
Although drawing in the snow is something we have all had a go at at one time or another, Simon Beck takes this art form to a whole new level.
An Oxford engineering science graduate and cartography expert in the UK, Simon has been doing this kind of art work for more than 10 years. Every winter he heads to the Alps to create bigger and better works of art.
Equipped with just a compass and snowshoes, he spends several hours drawing geometrical patterns in the snow, carrying out an ephemeral artform which is also known as snow art.
Come and admire the fresco he created on February 7th; set at the top of the Moutière chair lift in Val Thorens, it took him 6 hours and required him to cover several kilometres on foot!
